Ingredients

  • 500 gr minced beef
  • 1 piece of onion
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 2 cubes beef broth
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 pinch of nuts
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry


How to make Meat Pie Australia

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  2. Brown meat and onions.
  3. Add 3/4 cup water, stock cubes, tomato and Worcestershire sauce, pepper, oregano, and nutmeg.
  4. Boil and cover for 15 minutes.
  5. Blend flour with the remaining 1/4 cup water until it becomes a smooth paste; add to the meat mixture.
  6. Let it cool.
  7. Grease the pie pan with puff pastry before use.
  8. Add the cooled filling mixture; grease the edges of the cake with milk or beaten egg; put the top of the cake; press the ends down with a fork.
  9. Smooth the edges and brush the top with milk or beaten egg.
  10. Bake in the oven at 220 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
  11. Reduce heat to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for another 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Serve with vegetables, french fries, or salad.
