Korean original jajangmyeon recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1000 grams of noodles (you can use spaghetti, ramen, or instant noodles)

Jajang sauce ingredients:

  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 400 ml water
  • 200 grams of chujang or Korean black soybean paste (an alternative can use sweet soy sauce with chili and palm sugar) 500 grams of boneless chicken breast, diced
  • 2 onions, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 zucchini, cut into matchsticks (can be replaced with cucumber)
  • 6 scallions, medium size, cut into small pieces of 2 cm
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch, dissolved with two tablespoons of water
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil


How To Make:

  1. Jajang sauce: In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. When the oil is almost smoking, reduce the heat and then sauté the garlic and scallions. Cook until browned, for three to five minutes. Remove, set aside, and strain the oil.
  2. 2. Add a little oil to the frying pan, add the chujang. Cook, stirring rapidly, for about one minute. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. Saute chicken until brown, for three to five minutes. Add the garlic and onions. Also, add the chujang sauce.
  4. 4. Add water, then add the chopped onions. Reduce the heat, add the dissolved cornstarch, sugar, and sesame oil. Stir well for three minutes.
  5. 5. Bring the water to a boil, add a teaspoon of salt, put the noodles in it. Boil until soft according to package directions. Drain well.
  6. 6. Arrange the noodles on a serving plate, pour the jajang sauce, then add the zucchini slices. Home-style halal jajangmyeon is ready to be served.
