Nanaimo Bars

Nanaimo Bars

Dalgano - Canada Food | Some of you may ask, what are Nanaimo Bars? They are a popular Canadian candy, basically layered stick cakes, which to me taste a lot like chocolate-rich fudge. They are named after the west coast town of Nanaimo, British Columbia.

They consist of 3 layers, cracker crumbs and a chocolate base, custard flavored icing and then finished with a chocolate glaze.

The instructions for this treat may seem long and tedious, but this delicious treat is surprisingly easy to make. After all, they are bars that don't need baking.

After tasting it, you will definitely want to make it. therefore see the following recipe to make it. If you want to know other Canadian specialties you can see the recipe Canadian Tourtiere Pie with Meat Filling.
