How to Make Russian Sunflower Pie Recipe:

  1. Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the Sunflower Pie.
  2. Start by "revitalizing" the yeast. To do this, warm the milk to 35-37 degrees, pour sugar and yeast into it. Stir and, covering the cup, for example with a plate, wait 10 minutes until the yeast foams on the surface. At the same time, melt the butter.
  3. Combine eggs with salt and melted butter in a cup. Then pour into the yeast mixture.
  4. And start adding the sifted flour in portions. Mix it first with a spoon.
  5. And then go to manual kneading and finish kneading the dough that is already on the table. Not all flour may be needed, it all depends on its quality. The dough is quite elastic but soft. Collect in a ball, put in a clean cup, cover first with a film, then with a towel, and leave to warm for an hour and a half.
  6. Pour the oil into a frying pan, heat it and sprinkle with finely chopped onions.
  7. Fry until golden. Spread the minced chicken over the onions and continue frying for another 10 minutes. Season with salt and spices.
  8. Grind the cheese on a grater into small chips.
  9. After the allotted time, the dough will be doubled in size. Remove from the cup, crush and divide in half.
  10. Roll one part into a circle with a diameter of about 25-27 cm, trim the edges along the plate or lid. And immediately transfer to a piece of parchment.
  11. Place the fried minced meat on the slide in the center, where you distribute the cheese chips into a ring. Leave the edge of the cake (about 1 cm) blank.
  12. Roll out the second part of the dough in the same circle, but only 1.5-2 cm in diameter. And stack this second round on top of the first. The edges of the circle must match.
  13. Press the edges of the circle with a fork. Also, knead the dough at the border of the two fillings.
