Jjampong Formula, Korean Spicy Seafood Noodles

Dalgano - Recipes Korean | Famous in South Korea, it seems that Jjampong is a genuine dish from China. The name Jjampong itself is taken from the Japanese language which means mix. When in Korea, Jjampong is widely available in Chinese restaurants.

Many interesting things from Korea are trending and spreading to other countries around the world. Not only fashion and its makeup trends but Korea is also known to have a unique and varied culinary style.

One of the most popular Korean dishes today is Jjampong. This spicy seafood noodle often appears in Korean dramas. In fact, this menu is not difficult to make. Here is a simple Jjampong formula that you can try yourself at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of egg noodles or udon noodles
  • 6 medium-size prawns
  • 6 green mussels (can be exchanged or mixed with other types of shells)
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon gochugaru (chili powder)
  • 100 grams of beef, thinly sliced
  • 7 cups chicken/meat/seafood stock
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 pieces of squid, cut into small pieces
  • 1 scallion, cut into 5 cm pieces
  • 100 grams of chicory (can also be exchanged for pokcoy)
  • 1/2 carrot, cut according to taste
  • 2 shitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • sugar and salt for flavor
  • 1 green chili, seeds removed and thinly sliced
  • 1 red chili, seeds removed and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce







Making Method:

  1. Boil the noodles in a saucepan according to the instructions on the package. Make sure not to overcook the noodles so the texture isn't too mushy. Once cooked, drain the noodles and set them aside.
  2. Boil the clams with 2 cups of water until it boils. Cover the pot, cook on low heat until the shells open. Drain the clams then add 1 cup of chicken stock.
  3. Heat the oil then sauté the minced garlic and ginger. Add chili powder, minced meat, and onions. Saute all ingredients until well blended and produces a fragrant aroma.
  4. After a few minutes, add the shrimp, squid, carrots, and scallions into the pan, stir again until blended.
  5. After a few minutes after that, add other ingredients such as boiled clams, chicory, mushrooms, noodles, and broth. Allow it to boil.
  6. Cook on fire for about 5 minutes. Add soy sauce, salt, and sugar until the taste is right. Once cooked and all ingredients and spices are mixed, turn off the heat.
  7. Sprinkle the accessories and Jjampong is ready to be served
